The Spring Gala: A great night!

Thank you to all who attended last Thursday’s Spring Gala Auction.  It was a wonderful night to behold so much of what we have at PS 132:  great teachers, staff, administration, active, involved parents, and overall a supportive community of talented people came together to make the evening a success.

We have tabulated all the results from the teacher treat raffles!  Look to be contacted on Monday if you have won a raffle, and we will also post those results here.

Additionally, we have sorted our auction checkout paperwork and are ready to distribute our auction items to our winners!  The Spring Gala chairs are currently emailing and calling auction winners and arranging pick up of auction items on Tuesday and Thursday morning of this week after morning drop off.

If you have a question, please feel free to email ptapatriciahale@gmail.com.

And look for pictures coming soon!

Event FAQ’s

When you arrive at Giando on the Water (www.giandoonthewater.com), you will be checked in off of our Spring Gala Guest List.  No paper tickets have been given out.  You will be assigned a random number and handed a paper version of our Auction Catalogue which lists all of the auction items.  The event begins at 6pm and ends at 10pm.

The Auction, dinner and bar service begin at 6pm, though you may arrive anytime you like during the evening.  Just note that auction tables will start closing down at 8:30 pm, the teacher treat raffle will close at 8:30 pm, and dinner service will close around 9:30pm.

You may drive to Giando’s; they are providing valet service. (Though valet gratuity not included in ticket price.)  Of course, there is also nearby street parking which is free.

After parking and after checking in and receiving your randomly assigned number and Auction Catalogue, go enjoy yourself in the beautiful banquet room on the second floor of Giando’s:  get a glass of wine, some food, and check out all the tables filled with auction goods.

There will be approximately 8 tables filled with all the donated auction items.  The items will be organized by category (Restaurant & Bar, Art & Home, Classroom Projects, etc.)

Each item on the auction tables will have a bid sheet with a minimum bid.  The minimum bids have been set at approximately 20% of the item’s estimated value.

When you see something you like, place a bid on the bid sheet.  You do this by writing down your randomly assigned number and the dollar amount you are bidding.

If you are the first bidder, this number must be equal to or greater than the minimum bid.  If you are not the first bidder, your bid must be at least $5 over the previous bid.   (That is, no $1 increases, but you can do anythign over $5).

Keep checking on those auction items you really want.  Someone else may have outbid you, and bidding is open and continuous until that auction table is closed.  Like eBay, you are allowed to place as many bids as you like.

Auction tables will be closed down, one at a time, starting at 8:30.  We will announce what table is being shut down before doing so.

Once a table has been shut down, all bidding on those items is complete.

When the outcome of each of your auction bids has been determined, the Spring Gala Committee will be happy to process your payment and give you your goods.

We will accept payments by cash, check, or credit card.

In the event you will not be present when the outcome of your auction bids have been determined, please make sure you leave your contact information with the Spring Gala Chairs so that we may get in touch with you after the auction.

Reasons #66-120: Teacher Treats Raffle

Hi all!

The teacher treat raffle brochure was sent home yesterday in your child’s backpack.  This brochure details the 55 amazing and wonderful ideas teachers, staff, and administration came up with for spending some special time with a raffle winning kid.

If you are NOT attending The Spring Auction Gala tomorrow and DO want to participate in the Teacher Treat Raffle, please use the brochure, mark off the raffles you would like to participate in, and send your $ to the Main Office.

If you ARE attending The Spring Auction Gala tomorrow, rest be assured, we WILL BE SELLING RAFFLE TICKETS at the auction itself.  You do not need to fill out the brochure;  you do not need to send in $ to the Main Office.

We simply wanted to give everyone at the school the opportunity to participate in the teacher treat raffle.

The actual raffle will take place at the auction, tomorrow night, at 8:30 pm.

See you there!

Reason #58

This really deserves more than one reason!  Bring your rancher dreams.

Montana 3 BR cabin in remote location 1 hour north of Billings on family ranch. Great for writer’s retreat or family starting point for an extended trip to Yellowstone, Glacier and other dramatic Montana locations. Middle of state location in Bull Mountains is somewhat dryer than high Rockies, but remote  rural setting finds one encountering elk and coyote, deer and pheasant, on a regular basis. Stay is for five days and four nights available from May through September, this year or next. For more details contact Alan Hill or the PTA gala committee.

Okay, now I’m just begging….

Hi all you hardworking, amazing donation-making, donation-getting, donation-giving people!

I know you are all working hard getting those donations in.  Alan and I are busy trying to input all the information into our Auction database that will, by magic, turn into the catalogue you will receive on Thursday, April 22.

It turns out database entry is very time consuming!

So please make every effort to get your donations and donation forms into the Main Office by Friday, April 16.

If you would like to make special arrangements to drop off your donation, please email ptapatriciahale@gmail.com.

Thanks as always for your hard work.  The list of donations is growing everyday and looks amazing.

Best regards,

Trish Hale
